Currently, there is a section entitled "List of magical creatures mentioned in the film series." However, each sub-heading within this section is mostly dedicated to information exclusively from the books. As such, I would suggest renaming this section to reflect general notability, as that seems to be the reasoning for their current inclusion. However, before I begin overhauling this article, I wanted to see the general consensus on this point. TNstingray (talk) 14:41, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Condensing (often to a very large degree) the descriptions of creatures, so that all of them fit in one list. The more notable ones (Dementors, goblins, etc) used to have their own sections, but those sections were full of plot summaries (which can be found on other pages) and excessive in-universe details more appropriate to a fan wiki.
General copyediting of the entire list.
Once those tasks were done, I introduced a list of the more notable creatures onto the page Fictional universe of Harry Potter. The Magical Creatures page is now simply a list of every single creature that shows up in the Harry Potter universe. At first I thought the page should be merged, and I made a proposal here. However, another editor made me aware of the wealth of secondary sources that give real-world context to the topic of magical creatures in Harry Potter. I retracted my merge proposal, and created a "References to use" box on this talk page, where I listed all those sources. At some point, somebody will need to transform this page from a glossary of magical creatures with little real-world context into a page that discusses the creatures from a real-world point of view. I probably can't do this in the near future, but I could be a resource for someone else who wants to. Wafflewombat (talk) 02:09, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
